Interesting Staircases in Paris and Rome

Exif: 28mm | ƒ/2 | 1/160s | ISO 1600

I have made several city trips in Europe last month, e.g. to Paris and Rome. In both cities, my time for photography was very limited. Luckily, the hotels I stayed in provided an unexpected opportunity: their staircases.

The hotel I stayed in Paris was in a classic building, and contains a classic spiral staircase made of wood.

In Rome I stayed in The Hive, which is a brand new hotel in the city’s center. It houses in one of the few modern buildings you can find there and has a very different staircase. But it is equally interesting, especially because of the reflection that continues the pattern of the stairs on the floor.

I love to find unexpected surprises like this. This is why I always bring my Sony RX100-III camera. It is very small and the quality is outstanding for such a small device.
