The AIVD building in Zoetermeer: an architectural HDR study

The AIVD building in Zoetermeer fascinated me despite its severe appearance. Because it was close to my office, I walked over during a lunch break and photographed it with a Sony RX100 III.

I took a bracketed set without a tripod, then used a strong HDR treatment to emphasise the grey structure. The finished photograph gave it an almost science-fiction character.

The building also held a personal memory. As a student, I had worked there during a holiday job when it housed the Ministry of Education. Carrying papers through its many corridors had given me a very different view of the same place.
