Haarlem and the Spaarne: golden-hour reflections

A weekend in Haarlem gave me time to photograph the old town and the River Spaarne. The Gravestenenbrug was one of the first subjects I explored.

For the golden-hour photograph, I used an older crop-sensor lens on my Sony A7R II so I could fit an ND filter. The longer exposure smoothed the water and recorded movement in the clouds.

I used a Sony 28 mm full-frame lens for the remaining riverside images. Comparing the results was interesting, but the setting itself was the real attraction: bridges, old buildings and quieter corners around Teyler’s Hofje.
