La Mer Dubai: colourful details by the beach

During a March visit to Dubai in 2018, I explored La Mer, then a newly opened beachfront development. The area combined beach views with carefully designed streets, restaurants and small architectural details.

Two subjects stood out: decorative tram tracks running through the urban setting and brightly coloured cabins beside the beach. They offered a different kind of composition from Dubai’s larger landmarks.

Parts of the development were still unfinished during the visit. These photographs capture La Mer at that moment, as people were beginning to discover the new waterfront.
