A woodland mushroom at Katjeskelder

While visiting my parents at Katjeskelder, I took a walk through the surrounding forest with my camera. I hoped to photograph sunlight falling between the trees.

I could not find a woodland composition that worked, but a colourful mushroom offered a smaller subject instead.

The photograph became a reminder to stay open to a different idea. The image I brought home was not the one I had set out to make, but it still captured something of that walk.
