Northern Portugal’s Atlantic coast at sunset

During two weeks near Porto, I explored the Atlantic coast between Espinho and the chapel of Senhor da Pedra. Sandy beaches and scattered rock formations offered plenty of subjects for sunset photography.

A wooden walkway followed the shore, linking views along the coast. During my evening walks, it became much quieter than it had been earlier in the day.

I enjoyed photographing both the larger coastal scenes and the way individual rocks shaped the foreground. The changing light made familiar stretches of beach feel different each evening.
