The Zaanse Schans is one of Holland’s most popular tourist attractions. A village full of typically Dutch farms and windmills. We ventured there to shoot some classic Dutch landscape photos.
The Rottemeren are just 15 minutes drive from my home. The area consists of a few lakes that are connected by the river Rotte. There is also a mill there, known as the “Eendrachtsmolen”.
The Noord-AA lake near my home town Zoetermeer (Sweet Lake City) is one of my favorite spots. A very simple composition, but combined with a long exposure effect I managed to achieve a soothing image.
I wanted to take some long exposure shots with reflection in the water. There are a couple of options near Zoetermeer. This time I chose the Vlietlanden, an area close to Voorschoten just a few minutes drive.
I visited Zeeland last weekend, and the city of Zierikzee in particular. Zeeland is a remarkable province in Holland. It is flat and quiet. And it has a long history of struggle with the sea. Now it is a popular holiday destination for the Dutch and the Germans.
My second excursion to the dunes of Meijendel. Early december it is cold and the trees have lost their leaves. Sunset starts early and can be very beautiful. It gives the area a whole new look.
I usually don’t photograph in the morning, but this time I made an exception. We drove to the Rottemeren, which is only 15 minutes from my home. It was a nice foggy morning.
If you’re looking for a unique nature reserve near the city of The Hague in The Netherlands, you don’t have to go far. Meijendel Nature Reserve offers a beautiful combination of dunes, forests and beach right around the corner.
Kinderdijk is a famous place in The Netherlands for tourists, where you have a lot of typical windmills in one place. It is also just around the corner for me. So I decided to go there and take some photos.
